As the Parent and Family Services Coordinator at the Brick House Abby Graseck works with parents in Turners Falls and the surrounding area who struggle to meet their families’ basic needs. She helps parents to connect with the existing community resources and services that are available to them, as well as supporting them as they seek larger-scale solutions to challenges they face. Because many Latin@ immigrants in the Turners Falls area face specific challenges that The Brick House is equipped to address, she works largely with these families, but any parent facing a basic needs challenge can request her support.
Some of the resources and services Abby can help parents connect with are: Food Stamps (SNAP), Cash Assistance, Fuel Assistance, WIC, medical and dental care, local housing, legal assistance, programs at local family centers, recreational programs such as Parks and Recreation, adult basic education programs, schools, domestic violence support, and a local volunteer ride service. She also supports parents as they navigate employment situations and the court system, and provides Spanish/English interpretation when needed.
Abby works Tuesdays, Thursdays, and is often available upon request at other times.
