Parent and Family Programs
The Parent/Family Program aims to provide ways for local families to get the support they need and offer opportunities for them to expand their social network system. We do this by offering programming, individual family support, and informational events throughout the year.
We coordinate the Brick House Community Connections Coalition. This Coalition has a Steering Committee that meets regularly to discuss community needs and possible solutions to those needs. While the “Coalition” theoretically includes the entire community, their Steering Committee is composed of key contacts from other agencies, local parents, and key Brick House staff members.

Upcoming Events
Join us! Our ongoing events include:
Coffee Hour / Hora del Café:
Every Thursday from 9-10 where all are welcome to stop in to enjoy a hot beverage, some snacks, and community. Appointments can also be made with staff if individual or family support is needed.
Community Open Hours
Mondays 10-1 and Thursdays 9-12, stop in to request resources and support, offer ideas for future Brick House programming, learn more about The Brick House, and just say hello!
English / Spanish Gathering: Every Tuesday from 5-6pm. This gathering is for parents, families, and other community members to get together to share their English and Spanish speaking skills, offering an informal way to get to know each other and make new friends! We have a couple of awesome volunteers who speak both languages to help out, too.
Women’s Money Matters: A program offered to adults who identify as women to attend remote classes once a week to learn about financial literacy. These are held in 12-week sessions and include separate meetings with an individual coach for each participant. The Brick House has a contract with the Women’s Money Matters program and there are only a few spaces left.
The Parent/Family program also hosts one-time events! We have hosted Family Game nights, playground gatherings, and informational sessions with guest speakers from other agencies that specialize in particular services.
PEER Community Ambassador Program
The PEER Community Ambassador Program is a parent leadership program that is a collaboration between the Communities that Care Coalition’s Parent/Family Engagement Workgroup and a few local “host agencies”, of which The Brick House is one. PEER Ambassadors are local parents/guardians with the lived experience to know how challenging it can be to find out where to go for help and to actually walk through that door. They are trained on local resources and communication skills and receive a small stipend each month to network with other parents and attend parent trainings and events.. Each host agency supervises at least one PEER Ambassador; the Parent/Family Program currently has 3.

The Brick House is honored to have been awarded the Recover Project’s Community Service Award! We had the pleasure of collaborating with them this spring on the Strengthening Families program and a Parent Recovery Cafe, and appreciate all that they do for those in recovery from addiction. We look forward to working with them on more projects in the future!
