Angelica founded Mitra: Healing Centered Yoga in February 2023 to empower DV/SV Survivors by celebrating their agency, wisdom, and self-worth through the practice of yoga. She teaches flow yoga that integrates trauma-informed principles, strengths-based approaches, and incorporates philosophy, movement, and breath work to guide participants toward autonomy and self-acceptance. This introductory class is free and all are welcome! Please RSVP at kjackson@brickhousecommunity.org to register. Childcare is available.

Discover the profound connection between your body, emotions, and the present moment in this transformative experience. Experience a fluid movement session, where we will explore tension releasing and grounding practices, including vagus nerve stimulation and the calming 3-part breath. Movement will be followed by a mindfulness practice where we navigate how different emotions arise in our bodies, without judgment. We will end with a reflection of our experience, decoding emotions and their needs, or simply exploring your own needs as the session concludes. Take home a valuable handout summarizing the practices for continued self-care.
The Brick House offers space for any community organization, individual, or group wishing to host programs that are in alignment with our mission to support individual, family and community well-being. For more information see our space rental page.
