Queer Poetry Open Mic

Come join us for our 9th monthly Queer Poetry Open Mic night, held for the first time at The Brick House!

We are so excited to see/meet/celebrate you:
Bring your deepest sad, your brightest joy, your ephemeral wanting. Moon magic and wildflowers. We’re here for whatever your heart sings to you. Both queer folx and allies are welcome, but we ask if you are not queer that you consider coming just to listen. For all readers: 3 min on the mic—please respect your fellow poets’ time!

We are not here to police anyone’s identities in any way but only ask that you inquire within your own heart whether or not your voice most needs to be heard. And yes: YOU ARE QUEER ENOUGH!!

LOGISTICS:
* Doors @ 6:30pm, open mic @ 7:30pm. We usually end by about 9:30pm.
— 6:30-7:30pm: Sign-up for the open mic, engage with provided writing prompts, check out some cool homemade pins & feature merch, and schmooze with fellow poets. We will try to start as close to 7:30pm as possible! —
* MASKS REQUIRED when not drinking or reading on stage; we will have K-95’s at the venue!
* Sliding scale, $5-20. Pay what you can but no one turned away for a lack of funds. Both Venmo & cash accepted!!
*First floor, wheel-chair accessible venue; the venue is transitioning to low-scent products but some scented cleaning products may still be present in the space
*This venue is non-alcoholic; please bring your own beverages!
*We will be recording live to Facebook to assist with accessibility for those unable to access the venue; if you would prefer not to be recorded for any reason, please sign up in the non-recorded spots noted on the sign-up form.
